On January 30, 2017, a conference took place in Nijmegen ‘Removing Borders, Connecting Regions, Moving People’. The SGA team was also present on that day. Six group sessions were held; in the group sessions, the focus was on new encounters, knowledge exchange, and the exchange of methods for intelligent and sustainable cross-border cooperation. Professionals and residents from the border region reported with inspiring practical examples on the opportunities they seized on the other side of the border and the obstacles they encountered. They also discussed with the attendees the challenges ahead of them.
The SGA team members also conducted two group sessions on that day: Job Placement (Working Without Borders), presented by Heike Kirchmann (Podium24) and Providing Information for Job Seekers (A Coherent Structure Within Reach), presented by Miek Cremers (UWV) and Egon Vanwersch (Employment Agency Aachen-Düren).
On the occasion of this conference, Dagblad de Limburger published the article on January 31, 2017, ‘Puzzling in the Border Region’.
